How to Pair Beats With a Windows 11 PC

To pair Beats with a Windows 11 PC, turn on Bluetooth, put the Beats in pairing mode, then pick them under New devices:

1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices, and make sure Bluetooth is switched On.
2. Put your Beats in pairing mode (table below) until the lights flash, or until the tone repeats on Beats Solo Buds and Beats Pill.
3. Select the Network, Sound or Battery icon next to the time and date on the taskbar.
4. Select the Manage Bluetooth devices chevron on the Bluetooth quick setting, then select your Beats under New devices.
5. Follow any extra instructions, then select Done.

Microsoft notes you might need to scroll through Your devices before New devices appears. Once paired, the Beats and the PC connect automatically whenever Bluetooth is on and they're in range.

Pairing Mode for Each Beats Model

Microsoft leaves pairing mode to the device maker, so these controls come from Apple's Beats User Guide:

How to Connect Beats on Windows 10

To connect Beats on Windows 10, use the Add a device window:

1. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices, and make sure Bluetooth is switched On.
2. Put your Beats in pairing mode (table above).
3. Select Add Bluetooth or other device.
4. In the Add a device window, select Bluetooth, then select your Beats.
5. Once they pair, select Done.

Microsoft ended Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025; the PC still works, but it no longer gets free security fixes.

HP, Dell, Lenovo and Other Laptops (and MacBooks)

An HP, Dell or Lenovo laptop follows the steps for its Windows version, because Microsoft writes them for Windows 11 and Windows 10, not for a laptop brand. If a laptop shows no Bluetooth at all, Microsoft says to check its product specifications. On a MacBook, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Bluetooth, put your Beats in pairing mode, select them in the list of devices, then click Connect.

How to Check Your Beats Are Connected to Your PC

To check your Beats are connected to your PC, confirm three things:

1. Open quick settings: the Bluetooth tile shows the device it's connected to, or says Connected.
2. Play audio and listen in your Beats.
3. If sound stays on the laptop speakers, go to the PC's sound settings and select your Beats as the playback device (Apple's wording for PCs).

If Your Beats Won't Connect to Your PC

When your Beats don't appear under New devices, change discovery first: go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, then set Bluetooth devices discovery to Advanced, which shows all types of Bluetooth devices. Repeat pairing mode. Still failing? In Devices, select More options next to your Beats, then Remove device > Yes, and pair again. Apple also says to keep Beats within 30 feet of the PC, away from other Bluetooth devices, microwaves and wireless routers. What Works Differently on Windows

Windows pairs Beats, but three Apple and Android extras don't carry over:

• No Beats app. Apple documents the Beats app for Android only; we found no Windows version in the Beats User Guide.
• No firmware route. Apple's Update Beats page lists automatic updates on Apple devices and the Beats app on Android, and no Windows option. See the Beats headphones firmware update guide.
• No automatic switching. Beats Fit Pro, Powerbeats Fit, Beats 360 and Powerbeats Pro 2 switch automatically only between Apple devices on one Apple Account. Listening modes still work from the buttons: press the system button twice on Beats Studio Pro, or the Listening mode button on Beats 360.

How do I connect my Beats to my laptop?

On a Windows 11 laptop, turn on Bluetooth in Bluetooth & devices, put your Beats in pairing mode, select them under New devices, then select Done. On a MacBook, open System Settings, click Bluetooth, select your Beats, then click Connect.

Why won't my Beats show up on my PC?

Microsoft's steps need the device discoverable, which for Beats means pairing mode: lights flashing, or a repeating tone on Beats Solo Buds and Beats Pill. Windows can also hide them: Microsoft's Default discovery setting displays common Bluetooth devices, so set Bluetooth devices discovery to Advanced and try pairing mode again.

Can I update Beats firmware on a Windows PC?

Apple gives no Windows route for Beats firmware. Its Update Beats page lists two: over-the-air updates on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, and the Update button in the Beats app on Android. It doesn't mention a desktop Beats Updater, though Apple's older Solo3 Wireless page still names Beats Updater for Solo3 not paired with an iPhone on iOS 10 or later.
