AI use policy

We use AI tools to help research, draft and edit our guides, and to create some illustrations. A person reads and signs off every page before it's published, and a fact counts as verified only when it matches the maker's official page.

How AI Fits Into Our Work

AI tools help with most steps, and one step is always done by a person: the final review and sign-off.

Plain-language editing	AI tools help edit for short sentences and plain words.
Checking facts against official pages	AI assistants read the official source pages again and flag any fact that doesn't match. A fact counts as verified only when it matches an official source page.
Illustrations	Some illustrations are generated with Runway. Screenshots and diagrams are our own.
Final review and sign-off	Suraj Giri reads every page and signs it off before it's published. The site won't publish a page without that sign-off date.

AI doesn't decide what counts as verified. Only a match with an official source page does. How we verify fixes explains the checks, and our editorial policy explains how we write.

What We Never Use AI For

• Inventing facts, quotes, test results, reviews, people or recalls.
• Saying we tested a device. We don't test fixes on physical devices.
• Images that show where a button, port or light is on a real product. For that we use screenshots, our own diagrams, or openly licensed or press photos.
• Images of real people, or images with brand logos.

How AI Images Are Labelled

Every generated illustration has a credit line under it: "Illustration: Gadget247News, generated with Runway". The image file is also labelled as AI-generated in its metadata. Generated images show general scenes only, never a specific product's controls. Every other image on the site has a credit line too: our own screenshots and diagrams, openly licensed photos with the creator and licence named, and brand press images on news pages.

If You Spot a Mistake

AI tools can get things wrong, and so can people. Fix, how-to, tracker and news pages show a Verified line with the official page we used and the date we checked it, so you can compare the steps with the source yourself. If something on a page doesn't match what you see on your device, email info@gadget247news.com with the page, your model and your software version. We'll check it against the official source, fix the page, and record the change in our corrections log.

Changes to This Policy

This policy covers every page on Gadget247News. We update it when the way we work changes, and the date at the top of this page shows the last change.
